Trust Service Providers are essential to the development of eCommerce and digital communication. They are organisations that provide digital trust services, including eSignatures, timestamping and electronic identity verification – enabling secure electronic transactions.
TSPs ensure the identities of individuals or organisations are valid, and that their electronic transactions are secure and legally binding. They are subject to strict regulatory and technical standards, such as EU eIDAS, to ensure reliability and interoperability of their services.
Trust Service Providers can be private companies, public institutions or government agencies. Some examples of a TSP include Certification Authorities (CAs), eSignature providers and identity verification services.
Ascertia is a proud member of the Cloud Signature Consortium (CSC). Founded in 2016, the CSC is an international group of industry, government and academic organisations. Its aim is to drive the standardisation of secure, cloud-based digital signatures worldwide.
Many global TSPs use Ascertia’s SAM Appliance-enabled remote signing to provide high-trust digital signatures to industries such as banking and government. Remote signing frees businesses and facilitates a secure, work from anywhere model.
As a Qualified Trust Service Provider (QTSP), we had an urgent need to deliver Qualified Remote Signature services that met the EU eIDAS (910/2014) Regulation and the relevant ETSI standards and CEN EN 419241-2 Protection Profile for Qualified Remote Signing with Level 2 Sole Control. Ascertia was the first to release a commercial product, ADSS SAM Appliance, that was CC EAL4+ certified against EN 419 241-2.
